The Future of Ontario Place

documenting the importance of a modernist icon and its enduring social impact

Ontario Place is a public site and Modernist icon located in Toronto.

Facing current development threats by Ontario’s provincial government, the site was placed on the 2020 World Monuments Watch alongside only twenty-four other cultural heritage sites of global importance.

Through a research initiative and public campaign, the Future of Ontario Place Project is working to build public knowledge of the heritage values of the site, and to imagine the future of Ontario Place as a public cultural asset for all Ontarians. I worked with the Future of Ontario Place to document the site and its current uses, as well as produce a series of videos to support the education campaign.
